In this Member Highlight, we get to talk to Loretta Lyken, Program Manager at the Walton School Sustainability Teachers Academy.
In our conversation, she shares how getting her hands dirty in the garden has always been a staple of her journey as an educator. Loretta also shares how adding nutrition education into her programming enhanced student knowledge of the food system, starting with their own connections with their food environment.
Additionally, she shares about the organization Pilot Light and how her involvement with this partner supported her expertise as a nutrition and garden educator.
